Short version: install the free ePayVista plugin from our download page or WordPress.org, paste a USDC wallet address you control, click Connect, and run a $5 test order. Your customers can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or straight from a crypto wallet, and you receive USDC minus 1%.
What you need before you start
- A self-hosted WordPress site (WordPress 5.8 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer) with WooCommerce installed and active.
- A USDC or USDT wallet address you control, such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger, Trezor or Trust Wallet. Never use an exchange deposit address: exchanges rotate those addresses and can reject tokens they do not expect.
- Admin access to WordPress and about five minutes. Your store can be priced in USD or any major currency; the plugin converts the total to US dollars at checkout.
Install the plugin: six steps
- Get the plugin. Download
epayvista-payments.zipfrom epayvista.com/download, or skip the zip and search "ePayVista" under Plugins, Add New Plugin in WordPress. It is the same plugin listed on WordPress.org. - Upload it. In your WordPress admin go to Plugins, Add New Plugin, click Upload Plugin, and choose the zip.
- Install and activate. Click Install Now, then Activate Plugin. ePayVista now appears under WooCommerce payment methods.
- Open the settings. Go to WooCommerce, Settings, Payments, and click ePayVista.
- Paste your wallet and connect. Paste your USDC or USDT wallet address, click Save changes, then click Connect to ePayVista. Your account is created automatically: there is no separate signup and no application.
- Enable and test. Turn the gateway on, place a real order of $5 or more on your own store, and confirm the payment lands in your wallet.
The plugin runs live as soon as it is connected, so the test is a real payment. It costs you only the 1% fee and the network fee. The free developer sandbox is for API integrations, not the plugin.
What your customer sees at checkout
Your customers do not need to know anything about crypto. At checkout they choose how to pay:
| Option | How the customer pays | Minimum | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay by card (Stripe) | Credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay. For customers in the United States | $5 | USDC on Base |
| Pay with Coinbase | Card, Apple Pay, bank transfer or a Coinbase balance. Aimed at US customers | $5 | USDC on Base |
| Crypto wallet | Customer sends USDC or USDT and picks the network | $5 on Base or Polygon, $20 on Ethereum | The coin and network the customer used |
The card provider shows its own fee at checkout and the buyer pays it. First-time card buyers may be asked by the provider to verify their identity once; repeat orders go straight through. Stripe and Coinbase run the card step themselves and decide declines, 3D Secure and which countries they accept. Card payments outside the US are not guaranteed, so non-US buyers are better served by Pay with Coinbase or paying in crypto directly.
How settlement works
- Timing: funds are forwarded to your wallet as the payment confirms, usually seconds after checkout. There is no payout schedule and no balance held on our side.
- Order status: when the payment confirms, the WooCommerce order moves to Processing, and the order note shows the amount that arrived.
- Fees: 1% per transaction plus a network gas reimbursement (usually under a penny on Base and Polygon). No monthly fee, no setup fee, no rolling reserve.
- Final payments: on-chain transfers are final, so there are no card chargebacks against you. If you choose to refund a customer, you send it yourself from your own funds.
Minimums to know
$5 is the hard floor: orders below it are rejected. Card orders (Pay by card and Pay with Coinbase) start at $5 and settle on Base. Crypto paid directly on Ethereum needs $20 because of Ethereum network fees; Base and Polygon start at $5. Building your own checkout? GET /api/rails returns the current minimum for every rail, as described on the API page.
Coming from another gateway?
You can run ePayVista next to your current gateway while you compare. See how fees stack up in our gateway fees comparison, or read the side-by-side pages for NOWPayments, CoinGate, Cryptomus, PayGate.to and ShieldClimb. More setup answers are in the FAQ.
