Short version: as of November 2026, NOWPayments' own pricing page lists a 1% service fee, with smaller fees for higher monthly volume, and its homepage says network fees are not included. ePayVista also charges 1%. The difference is the checkout: ePayVista is built so US customers pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, the card provider's fee is paid by the buyer, and funds go straight to a wallet only you control.

Who pays the card fee?
A gateway's headline rate is rarely the full cost of a card order. When a customer pays by card, a licensed card provider charges the card and takes its own fee before the gateway takes its percentage. NOWPayments' pricing page says its calculator shows "processing, network, and on-ramp fees" but publishes no on-ramp amounts, so check their site for what applies to your orders.
On ePayVista the card provider (Stripe or Coinbase) shows its fee at checkout and the buyer pays it on top of the order. Your cost is our 1% plus a network gas reimbursement (usually under a penny on Base and Polygon). See all published rates on our gateway fees comparison.
Where NOWPayments is the better fit
- You want customers to pay in many different coins. NOWPayments lists far more coins than the USDC and USDT ePayVista settles in.
- Most of your card buyers are outside the US. ePayVista fully supports US merchants selling to US customers. Card payments elsewhere are not guaranteed, so non-US buyers are better served by Pay with Coinbase or paying in crypto directly.
- You have very high volume. NOWPayments says fees can drop below 1% at higher monthly volume. ePayVista is 1% for everyone.
Where ePayVista is the better fit
- US customers paying by card. Pay by card (Stripe, with Apple Pay and Google Pay) and Pay with Coinbase, from $5. Your customers never touch crypto.
- You want to keep your margin. The card provider's fee is on the buyer's receipt, so a card order costs you 1% plus a network gas reimbursement (usually under a penny on Base and Polygon).
- You want nothing held. Each payment is forwarded to your own wallet as it confirms. There is no balance to freeze and no withdrawal step.
- High-risk stores. No application and no underwriting. Every merchant pays the same 1%.
How to switch from NOWPayments
- Download the ePayVista plugin (or install it from WordPress.org) and activate it next to NOWPayments. Not on WooCommerce? Use payment links or the free REST API with signed webhooks.
- Paste a USDC or USDT wallet address you control (a self-custody wallet, not an exchange deposit address) and click Connect. There is no application to wait on.
- Run a real test order of $5 or more and check what lands in your wallet.
- Keep both gateways on while you compare, then turn the one you do not need off. Questions first? Read the FAQ.
